Have you ever felt “invincible” and full of energy at the end of a group workout? Creating that feeling is what inspired Mailis to become a group trainer. Mailis remembers how each workout brought her great emotions, and she wanted to share that feeling with others. You can join her Studio X, BOX BOX and Step workouts and experience the same joy and satisfaction.

What inspired you to become a group coach?

I remember the feeling I always got after a group workout – that “invincible” emotion (even though I had just worked hard for an hour, was drenched in sweat, and my heart rate was over 160), and I wanted to share it with others and create that same intoxication of joy in them.

How would you describe yourself as a trainer?

I am a group trainer who approaches participants as a personal trainer. For me, the person who comes to the training always comes first, which means I monitor, guide, and encourage both those who come to group training for the first time and those who already feel like a fish in water.

Why should someone choose your group training?

I like what I do, this also reflects on the outside, which in turn inspires trust and confidence in the participants of the group training that they are in good hands.

For me, the person who comes to the training always comes first, which means I monitor, guide, and encourage both those who come to group training for the first time and those who already feel like a fish in water.

How would you describe the Studio X and Step training in three sentences?

The Studio X training is quite intense: in addition to muscles, you train coordination and agility. It is definitely worth trying all four training sessions for the first time in the Studio X gym and coming back even after the first visit. In this training, you get to know your abilities very well – in the best sense!

Step is a classic cardio workout that primarily tones the lower body muscles. It is a repetition-based workout with a fixed pace; even first-time step bench users will feel like a fish in water. Even if you mix up left and right, you are developing strength and a sense of well-being.

I always say that every workout is only as intense as the person is giving that day.

For whom is this training best suited and why?

Studio X workouts are suitable for anyone who enjoys fast-paced group workouts and is not afraid to challenge themselves.

Step training is suitable for people of any age and fitness level who want to increase their physical activity.

What is the structure of the training (training plan), and can you adjust the loads yourself if necessary?

Studio X workouts last 50 minutes, during which exercises are performed both on the SkillMill (a special running machine) and on a bench, where in addition to your own body weight, you also use a mat, dumbbells of different weights and a weighted ball. The participant can change the weight (lighter/heavier) as needed and participate at their own pace.

Step training is a 50-minute cardio workout with music of a certain tempo, which in turn sets the pace of the workout. The participant can adjust the height of the Step bench themselves, changing the intensity of the workout. The workout is based on basic aerobic steps and repetitions, which allows everyone to master the combinations.

What hobbies do you enjoy outside the gym and how do they enrich your life?

I am a lover of culture – I enjoy music, film, theater, and art. It helps me to escape from the rest of the world and immerse myself in culture. I love to travel – be it an unvisited Estonian village/forest trail or a place in the world where you can go.

How does working as a group coach support your other daily hobbies and activities?

Thanks to being a group trainer, I also “infect” my friends and family with the desire to move more – walking or working out together brings us closer together and improves our health.

Name the three most important aspects of life for yourself to live a long, healthy, and happy life.

  • Movement is a privilege.
