Together with Tartu Kaubamaja CEO Kristel Liivapuu, TKM Kinnisvara Tartu Management Board Member Peeter Kütt, and the new club’s manager Erki Liiv, they cut the symbolic red ribbon, officially declaring MyFitness Tartu Kaubamaja open!
And that’s when the real fitness party began!

A Packed House, First Workouts, and Plenty to Discover
From the very first moments, it was clear that the people of Tartu had been eagerly awaiting the new MyFitness club! The club quickly filled with curious visitors excited to explore the most modern fitness facilities in Southern Estonia.
The DJ kept the music playing, the cocktail bar served refreshing non-alcoholic drinks, delicious snacks were on offer, and the entire club was buzzing with excitement and happy reunions.
But the surprises didn’t stop there! Vanemuine Theatre treated guests to a truly unexpected experience. Dancers who had blended in with the crowd as ordinary visitors caught everyone by surprise when the lights suddenly went out, music began to play, and spotlights revealed performers hidden throughout the club. What followed was a spectacular flash mob that instantly transformed the entire fitness club into one big stage, leaving guests amazed!
MyFitness personal trainers had their hands full, as interest in the new gym and Technogym equipment was incredibly high. The more adventurous guests didn’t just explore the facilities – they jumped straight into action! The opening day also featured the first special Hot Studio and Fusion Pilates classes, giving fitness enthusiasts an exciting taste of what the new club has to offer.
Tartu’s first Recovery Zone also attracted plenty of attention, giving guests the chance to try a variety of recovery solutions – HydroMassage water massage, RollShaper roller massage, Cloudboots compression boots, the Theragun Prime Plus massage device, and PolarWave cold therapy. Visitors also had the opportunity to discover the new Red Light Therapy experience.
One thing is certain – Southern Estonia’s most modern fitness club offers plenty of opportunities for both effective workouts and relaxing recovery!

2,000 Squats, 2,000 €, and One Amazing Act of Kindness!
One of the most special and heartwarming moments of the opening day took place in the gym, where everyone came together for a charity challenge – to complete 2,000 squats in support of Tartu University Hospital Children’s Foundation!
Event host Daniel Levi invited everyone to take part in the challenge, and the gym quickly filled with enthusiastic participants and supporters cheering them on. Every squat brought the group one step closer to their shared goal, and thanks to everyone’s efforts, it wasn’t long before all 2,000 squats were completed!
Thanks to the collective effort of everyone who took part, MyFitness and Tartu Kaubamaja donated 2,000 € to the Tartu University Hospital Children’s Foundation. A huge thank you to everyone who joined the challenge and helped make a positive difference on this special opening day!
It was a wonderful example of how the joy of movement and coming together can make a real difference. A huge thank you to everyone who took part in the squats, cheered others on, and helped us reach our shared goal!
Exciting Conversations and Surprises Throughout the Day
While the club was buzzing with workout activity and the DJ kept the energy high, the PAPSID.EE podcast had set up on stage right outside the club.
This time, the special guest was ultrarunner Rait Ratasepp, who shared his thoughts on ambitious goals, world records, overcoming challenges, and balancing a demanding athletic lifestyle with family life and everyday responsibilities.
If you missed the live conversation, you’ll soon be able to listen to the episode on Spotify and the PAPSID.EE website, or watch it on Facebook.
The day was also full of exciting surprises, as MyFitness partners had prepared a variety of gifts to celebrate the grand opening, which were raffled off among lucky club visitors.
