Ralph’s story:
Ralph is a courageous 16-year-old boy battling a serious muscle disorder, Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Expensive medications, which Ralph receives with the help of the Children’s Foundation and kind donors, have slowed the progression of the disease, but he must work hard to regain the strength already taken away by the disease: his goal and greatest desire is to become stronger and more independent.
He is supported on this path by a loving family, regular physical therapy sessions, and constant exercise: every day, Ralph tries to stand a little longer and walk a little more; he wants his assistant to support him by only one hand instead of both.
He also performs small tricks, such as walking with one hand in his pocket.
He says “I can’t” less and less often, and the physical therapist also notes and confirms that Ralph’s strength has increased significantly thanks to his consistent and hard work.
Ralph doesn’t let his severe illness confine him to a wheelchair forever but instead moves towards his dreams for the future in small but meaningful steps.
Ralph’s mother writes: “I remember Ralph once saying to me, ‘Mom, birthday wishes probably don’t come true when you blow out the candles on a cake. I once wished I could run like other kids, but I still can’t.'” Ralph won’t be able to run anymore, but his remaining strength can be maintained.
MyFitness Vitamins is a card with 7 workouts that allows you to attend any training session of your choice at MyFitness clubs throughout Estonia. The card costs €50.
A vitamin card can be purchased at any MyFitness club. After using the card, MyFitness offers cardholders who successfully complete all workouts a complimentary body composition analysis or a free joining.
