MyFitness HYROX

HYROX is not just another fitness competition. It’s a global sports format that combines endurance, strength, and functional training into a single, easily understood and comparable challenge. Same course, same exercises, same distance – regardless of country or city.

MyFitness coaches Jessica Lauter and Avely Heinloo are preparing to compete in several HYROX Women’s Doubles Open competitions this spring. We’ll discuss what HYROX is, who this competition format is best for, and why HYROX has become one of the fastest-growing fitness competitions in the world.

What is HYROX?

HYROX is a fitness competition that alternates between:

  • 8 runs of 1 km
  • 8 functional workout stations

Workout stations are divided into the following categories:

1. SkiErg (ski ergometer)

2. Sled push

3. Sled pull

4. Burpee broad jumps

5. Rowing

6. Farmer’s carry

7. Sandbag lunges

8. Wall balls (medicine ball wall throws)

All participants complete the exact same course, regardless of skill level. Differences arise from the categories (Open, Pro, Doubles, etc.), but the competition structure always remains the same. This makes HYROX a measurable, comparable, and fair challenge.

Who is HYROX suitable for?

HYROX is a hybrid sport suitable for many. Regardless of age or training experience, everyone can find the right level and category.

HYROX is intended:

  • for enthusiasts who want to train with a specific goal
  • for those interested in gym training and group trainings
  • for former athletes looking for new challenges
  • for runners who want to develop strength
  • for strength training enthusiasts who want to improve endurance

You don’t need to have CrossFit experience or be an elite athlete. The key is to train consistently, keep an open mind, and embrace new challenges.
