When passion, determination, and a supportive environment come together, inspiring stories are born. One such story is the journey of young Estonian golfer Kirke Kiige, who began playing golf at age nine and has since won the Estonian Championship and earned a bronze medal with the Estonian women’s team at the European Ladies Team Shield in Bulgaria. Her story demonstrates how sport can shape both character and life, and the importance of having the right support along the way, whether from family, a trainer, or the gym.

Start on a green field

She started playing golf at age nine, inspired by her parents. “They’d played before and suggested I give it a try. So, I quickly fell in love with the sport.” The game, which requires concentration and independent thinking, attracted her precisely because of its individual nature: “Golf teaches me to focus and analyze better, and it also helps me approach problems outside of sports more successfully.”

The results were immediate. She considers her greatest achievements to be winning the 2025 Estonian Course and Stroke Play Championships and achieving her first Hole-in-One in 2024 – a moment that remains elusive for most golfers.

Do you have any role models in the golf world?

Tiger Woods inspires me the most – he’s a legend! I love how he completely changed the world of golf at a young age. He knew how to stay focused in any situation and push through until the end. That’s what taught me the importance of never giving up.

MyFitness as a developing partner

Since golf requires a good level of physical fitness, the gym and cardio workouts are included in the weekly routine. “I work out three to four times a week, I go running – all of this builds endurance and helps prevent injuries.”

MyFitness became a safe and supportive training environment for her. She particularly vividly remembers her first personal training session with a MyFitness trainer Kadri Saar, who explained the purpose and effect of each exercise: “The trainer helped me better understand how my body works and how it contributes to my development in golf.”

“Golf is my passion, and I have my own goals. I know that every workout, even if it’s not the easiest, brings me a little closer to where I want to be.”

How does MyFitness help you in your athletic development?

Like many young people, I was a little apprehensive when I first went to the gym. But I quickly realized that everyone there was doing their own thing, no one was watching or judging, and that gave me more courage. Everyone I met at MyFitness was very friendly and polite – the members, the trainers, and the staff. This made training a truly enjoyable and motivating experience.

Balance between life, school and top sports

The life of a top athlete alongside her studies requires careful time management. She considers leisure time equally important: finding a moment for herself, listening to music, or just being is part of her mental balance.

She always remembers why he started in the first place: “Golf is my passion. Every training, no matter how hard, brings me closer to my goals.” The support of those close to her – trainers, family, and friends – has also been invaluable. To recover, Kirke prioritizes sleep, good food, and peace of mind. “When my body is tired, I don’t push myself. I listen to my body.”

“Be patient. Results don’t come overnight. Put in the effort and believe in yourself, even if others don’t.”

Dreams and advice for other young people

Her dream is to play golf professionally and represent Estonia at the international level: “I want to achieve as much as possible – not only in terms of results, but also in terms of my own development.”

To young people dreaming of becoming elite athletes, she says: “Be patient. Results won’t come overnight. Work hard and believe in yourself, even when others don’t.” Learning from failure is just as important as from victories.

She recommends MyFitness youth training to everyone: “They’re helpful in any sport – you can develop balance, concentration, and overall fitness. The trainers are supportive, the workouts are engaging, and the company is great – you never have to strain yourself alone.”
