Sometimes, when you work out by yourself, you just think \u2018Oh, that\u2019ll do\u2019 and leave it at that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ottas says group training is definitely suited to those who don\u2019t want to exercise on their own. \u201cAfter a long day at work it can be a blessing not to have to wander around the gym trying to remember what you\u2019re supposed to be doing next,\u201d she smiles, adding that in group sessions that is what the trainer is there for: telling you what to do and how to do it, and leaving you little opportunity to bunk off. \u201cYou can still take breaks if you need to \u2013 that goes without saying,\u201d she explains. \u201cBut there\u2019s still someone there spurring you on and keeping you going. It\u2019s fun, too. Lots of people make new friends from working out in a group.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Choose your training style based on your goals<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ottas says that group training is suited to people of all ages and levels of fitness, and to men and women alike. The MyFitness schedule offers such a wide variety of classes to choose from that everyone is sure to find something to their liking.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cParticularly at the moment it\u2019s important to remember that working out is about looking after your health and that regular exercise boosts your immunity, keeps your mind active and puts you in a good mood,\u201d she says. Her advice is to choose a type of training that is in line with what you hope to achieve \u2013 whether you want to focus on cardio, muscle or body &amp; mind training.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMost important of all is that you enjoy it,\u201d she adds. \u201cThere are all sorts of styles and levels and trainers, and there\u2019s sure to be one of each that speaks to you and motivates you. Don\u2019t pick something you know you won\u2019t be into. If you don\u2019t like dancing, don\u2019t go for a dance class. Choose the one that\u2019s right for you.\u201d She says the most important thing is taking the first step: heading out to the running track or to the gym.
